In 2019, a ransomware attack shut down a small school district in the small town of Wagon Mound, New Mexico. There was no clear guidance on what to do first, and no margin for error.

What made the situation worse wasn't the sophistication of the attack. It was the absence of clarity. And it was the problem that would define Srinivas Mukkamala's career.

Our CEO Dr. Srinivas Mukkamala saw this pattern repeatedly in his early work. The organizations that needed cybersecurity most had no budget to respond and no reliable direction on how to prioritize. A graduate of New Mexico Tech in Socorro, Srinivas built his career at the intersection of offensive security and operational risk. In 2015, he cofounded RiskSense, a risk-based vulnerability management company that grew into a recognized category leader before being acquired by Ivanti in 2021. After serving in a post-acquisition leadership role, he felt the pull to build again, this time to go further and solve the problem at its root.

That conviction became Securin.
